A New Approach for Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis Using ExJ-PSI Model—A Case Study on Boiler System

Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis are widely used to assess the failure modes of a system, along with their causes effects. Several Multi-Criteria Decision-Making approaches have been developed overcome limitations traditional FMECA. In these approaches, several multiple criteria considered determine criticality values assign ranks. only one expert can involve in analysis. By incorporating experts from design, manufacturing, maintenance domains analysis accuracy results be improved. This paper proposes new integrated Expert Judgment-based Preference Section Index (ExJ-PSI) model that combines MCDM integrates opinions. The proposed is applied boiler system textile industry. compared those obtained conventional FMECA normalized median method. present study, opinions seven various organizations discussed. To normalize collected data, scale by considering four criteria, such as experience expert, number boilers he handling, employees under his supervision, proficiency field. more effective flexible handling analyzing data complex configured systems consisting many subsystems, components, modes. reveals feed water pump, pump motor, supply temperature sensor, return header, coal motor some most critical components system.
